As a consulting natural therapist specialising in childrens health care my biggest frustration is the limited time during a consultation. The time available during a consultation is almost always focused on treating the current symptoms and getting the child well. Yes, underlying causes such as food allergies, poor diet and nutritional deficiencies are addressed and corrected wherever possible, but there is only so much information any person, let alone a mum or dad with a sick child can absorb in an hour.
My goal with creating this website was to create and build a resource for parents and families to assist them on their healing journey.
Whilst there is already so much information on natural health care for children available on internet already, most of it is written by either medically orientated people who are not trained in natural therapies or people with no real experience in using natural therapies with children and families, their information comes straight out of a book or is pinched from someone else’s website. A smaller percentage is so left of field that it scares the average person off the idea of using natural therapies let alone for their child or childrens health care
Most mums and dads are very busy people and I know how overwhelming it can be when faced with massive diet and lifestyle changes. Unless someone is very, very ill I prefer to take a ‘baby steps’ approach, making small incremental changes and continuing to build on these. I want parents and family’s to make healthy diet and lifestyle changes to benefit them for the rest of their life, not just a few weeks or months. Children usually respond positively to even small diet changes with stronger immune systems, becoming happier and healthier making it easier for parents to continue with changes.
The information on this website comes from nine years of experience working with children and families. It’s simple, no nonsense and practical but most importantly it’s also safe and effective.
Always trust your intuition as a parent, it’s there for a reason, if you’re at all concerned about your child’s health or they’re not improving within a reasonable period of time always get a second, third and fourth opinion if you need to. You know your child better than any health care professional.
Some health problems and illnesses require that you work hand in hand with an experienced health professional and in some cases a team effort between you, natural therapists and medical doctors is the best option for your child.

What is happening to the health of our children?
Rates of life threatening allergic reactions are continuing to increase, eczema is now almost seen as a normal childhood occurrence, just about everyone knows someone with an autistic child and drugs are the first choice for children with learning and behavioural problems before even checking to see if they've had a nourishing breakfast and a good nights sleep. It's now 'normal' for children to have had several courses of antibiotics before the age of two and marketers target children to use pester power to ensure that mum buys plenty of junk food. Natural health care is used only as a last resort when the drugs have failed. As a society our priorities are all wrong. Children are our future but we are crippling their fragile immune and nervous systems with chemicals and foods high in calories but devoid of all nutrients.
Thankfully, children have a remarkable vitality and capacity for healing. Many of these chronic childhood illnesses can be reversed, if a child's body is provided with correct materials and nutrients. Thankfully, healthy nourishing foods are not tasteless or even hard to prepare (the hardest part is starting the change). There are also many highly effective natural health remedies and herbal medicines that can be used to prevent and treat colds and flu, ear infections, digestive and sleep problems that do not respond to diet changes alone.
